New Directions Institute (NDI) is a 501c3 corporation that offers a variety of community based programs throughout New Mexico. We have an extensive history of developing and implementing education, prevention and treatment programs. NDI has established a successful track record working with a diverse range of populations. Our Institute emphasizes the collaboration and cooperation with other organizations in design and implementation of programs.
New Directions is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to providing the most effective programs for improving the health and welfare of our community. Our staff has extensive professional experience in experiential and wilderness programs as well as Biochemical Restoration and Ayurvedic treatments. We provide individually tailored programs for public and community organizations. NDI’s staff has designed, implemented and collaborated in specialized programs for adults and youth including: DWI offenders, Drug Court programs, Youth at Risk, Aftercare programs, substance abuse treatment, Relapse prevention and Education, Athletic performance nutrition.
We work from a strength-based program design, utilizing a motivational model and a cognitive behavioral approach to our treatment programs. We collaborate with other organizations to design specific programs that meet the specific needs of the population being served as well as the community as a whole. Our philosophy focuses on developing self-efficacy and the ability to implement alternative choices. NDI utilize an extensive range of experiential and wilderness activities including: Technical rock climbing, Rafting, Orienteering, Ropes Courses, Backpacking and Mountaineering. We have recently incorporated the highly successful treatment approach for Biochemical Restoration and Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of addictions and other mental health concerns.
